Etymologie
Pumila (= Zwerg); ceps (= Kopf), bezogen auf seinen "einzigartig kleinen" Kopf, Länge ~ 1/8 Körperlänge. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Weit verbreitet im Indo-West-Pazifik in Tiefen von 732–1880 m.
