Etymologie
Para (= nahe), weist auf die große Ähnlichkeit mit Sillago sihama in der äußeren Morphologie hin.
Verbreitung
Südchinesisches Meer: derzeit nur von der südlichen Küste Chinas bekannt (Beihai und Zhanjiang).
