Typusfundort: Indonesien, 4°05'N, 128°16'E (Karte), Dana-Station D3678, Tiefe ca. 1000 Meter (2000 Meter Drahtseil) über einer Bodentiefe von 4700 m.
Etymologie
Kombination der Form eines Scopelus (= Myctophum, Myctophidae) mit Brust- und Bauchflossen wie bei einem Gadus oder Kabeljau. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: zwischen 15°N und 15°S.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 18.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: keine größeren Gefahren bekannt.
