Arabischer Name für diese Art.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer; Indo-Westpazifik: Ostafrika, Südafrika, Sokotra, Persischer Golf, Seychellen, Madagaskar und Maskarenen, östlich bis zu den Hawaii-Inseln, den Line Islands und der Pitcairn-Gruppe, nördlich bis zur Präfektur Kyoto (Zentraljapan), südlich bis Westaustralien, Neukaledonien, Norfolk Island und Rapa.

Status: Stand 31.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Obwohl diese Art in der kommerziellen und handwerklichen Fischerei angelandet wird und in den meisten Teilen ihres Verbreitungsgebiets ein wichtiger Angelfisch ist, wurde bisher kein Rückgang der Populationen aufgrund dieser Nutzung beobachtet oder vermutet. Es gibt keine anderen bekannten, größeren Bedrohungen für diese Art.
