Typusfundort: Upper slope north of Melville Island, Northern Territory, Australia, 9°49'S, 130°15'E, [ (Karte)], aus 290 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Vom lateinischem gracilis (= schlank, graziös), in Bezug auf die schlanken Proportionen dieses kleinen Hais. (Übersetzt aus der Erstbeschreibung).
