Etymologie
Von schizo- (= Spalt); pyge (= Rumpf), bezieht sich auf die Membranfalte vor der Afterflosse, welche die Schuppen auf beiden Seiten der Öffnung etwas voneinander trennt. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
