Etymologie
Der Name edentata, abgeleitet vom lateinischen e (= ohne), und dentatus (= gezähnt), bezieht sich auf das Fehlen von Zähnen in beiden Kiefern.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer: bisher nur aus einer flachen (7 m) Rifflagune bei Hurghada (Ägypten) bekannt, 27.285°N, 33.772778°E (Karte).
