Typusfundort: Krka River in Kroatien, in der Nähe der Stadt Knin.
Etymologie
–oides (= in der Form), bezeiht siich auf seine frühere Identifizierung unter dem Namen Salmo fario (= Salmo trutta). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Bäche des östlichen adriatischen Abhanges, vom Einzug des Zrmanja bis Mornos (Kroatien, Bosnien-Herzogovina, Mentenegro, Albanien, Mezedonien, Griechenland). Auch die Forelle aus Alfios (Peleponnes) gehört währscheinlich zu dieser Art.
