Etymologie
Nigricans (= schwärzlich), bezieht sich auf die allgemeine Farbe des Körpers und der Flossen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westlicher Atlantik: Bermuda, Südflorida (USA) und Bahamas bis zum nördlichen Südamerika.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 29.08.2023:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es gibt keine größeren Bedrohungen für Entomacrodus nigricans. Die Art wurde im kommerziellen Aquarienfischhandel nachgewiesen, doch wird das derzeitige Ausmaß der Nutzung nicht als Bedrohung angesehen.
