Etymologie

Kombiniert aus rhino (Etymologie nicht erklärt, vielleicht von rhinos (= Schnauze)), bezogen auf kurze, abgerundete Schnauze vom Typ Somniosus rostratus, und scymnus, ein alter Name für eine Art Hai, abgeleitet vom griechischen Wort für Löwenbaby. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
