Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität, den Falkland-Inseln (Maclou = Lateinisierung von Malo, Quelle für die historischen spanischen (Islas Malvinas) und französischen (Îles Malouines)).

Südwestatlantik: Uruguay bis Argentinien.
