Etymologie
Kombiniert aus albus (= weiß) und maculatus (= gefleckt), bezieht sich auf die Rückenfläche, die mit kleinen, abgerundeten weißen Flecken übersät ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Südostpazifik: Insel Guamblín, Chile. Südwestatlantik: Patagonien, Argentinien, Falklandinseln und Uruguay.
