Etymologie
Pseudobarbus ist abgeleitet vom griechischen pseudes (= falsch, täuschend) und der Gattung Barbus (lateinisch barba (= Bart)); in Bezug auf eine täuschende Ähnlichkeit mit der Gattung Barbus aus Europa.
