Typusfundort: Bavali (Karte), Kabani River, Wayanad, Kerala, Indien.
Etymologie
Pentacantha, von pente (= fünf) und akantha (= Dorn), bezieht sich auf fünf Analflossenstrahlen.
Verbreitung
Bisher nur von Wayanad aus Kerala (Indien), bekannt.
