Etymologie
.
Verbreitung
Beschrieben von einem Unterwasser-Gebirgsrücken 800 km südlich von Madagaskar mit Paratypen aus Gewässern vor Ostaustralien. Polymixia-Exemplare aus beiden Regionen wurden zuvor als P. nobilis bezeichnet [37, 38]. Die Art wurde auch aus der Nähe von Mosambik [12] und mit Zweifel als P. cf. busakhini von Unterwassergebirgskämmen nördlich von Neuseeland berichtet.
