Etymologie
Pogonos (= Bart), bezieht sich vermutlich auf die kurzen, papillösen Barthaare von Pogonophryne scotti; phryne (= Kröte), bezieht sich möglicherweise auf die "stumpfen Noppen und Rippen" am Kopf, wie die Höcker einer Kröte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
