Typusfundort: Okinoyama-Bankkette, südöstlich der Sagami-Bucht, Japan, 200 m Tiefe
Etymologie
Clavatus (= Keule), in Bezug auf den Streifen auf der Seitenfläche des Körpers, der die Art kennzeichnet.
Verbreitung
Japan: Sagami-Bucht und Hachijo-jima-Insel, Izu-Inseln, Japan, und Guam in 100-386 m Tiefe; außerdem beobachtet in 406 m Tiefe auf dem Shoho Sea Mount, Nishi-Shichito Ridge, Südjapan.
