Etymologie
Etymologie unbekannt, vermutlich eine Latinisierung von daskilos, ein Name, der von Aristoteles auf die Rote Meerbarbe (Mullus barbatus) angewendet wurde, später von Cuvier auf Riffbarsche. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
