Etymologie
Lateralis (= von der Seite); fenestra (= Fenster), bezieht sich auf den ausgedehnten, kornförmigen, durchscheinenden seitlichen Flankenfleck bei den Männchen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Östlicher Indischer Ozean, westlicher Pazifik: Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu), Philippinen (Palawan, Panay, Cebu, Leyte), Indonesien (Java, Lombok, Sulawesi) und Australien (Nördliches Territorium, Queensland).
