Etymologie
-icus (= gehört zu:) Epirus, historische und geografische Region zwischen Griechenland und Albanien (aus Albanien beschrieben, aber derzeit nur noch vom Pamvotis-See, Epirus, Griechenland, bekannt). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Status: Stand 21.12.2021: CR Critically Endangered (vom Aussterben bedroht)
Gefahren für diese Art: Wasserverschmutzung, Überfischung (als Beifang) und Einschleppung gebietsfremder Arten (Hauptursache für den Rückgang).
