Typusfundort: Ngoi-Tio, Col des Nuages, Tonkin, Vietnam, Höhe 4500-6500 Fuß (ca 1371 - 1981 m).
Etymologie
Macro- (= lang); trema (= Loch), bezieht sich auf die größere Kiemenöffnung im Vergleich zu Pareuchiloglanis feae. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
China und Nord-Vietnam: Bekannt aus dem mittleren und unteren Teil des Roten Flusses.
