Verbreitung
Parascombrops serratospinosus ist eine häufige Art im gesamten westlichen Pazifik, von Taiwan und den Philippinen bis Nordwest-Australien und Vanuatu. Sie ist selten in Gewässern um Japan. Ihre Verbreitung scheint etwas fleckenartig zu sein: sie ist häufig bis reichlich vorhanden, wenn sie gefangen wird, aber abwesend von vielen Zwischenstandorten ohne offensichtlichen Grund. Parascombrops serratospinosus wurde in der Regel in größeren Tiefen (vorwiegend zwischen 300-600 m) gefangen, als z.B. Parascombrops philippinensis (der überwiegend aus 80-380 m stammt).
