Typusfundort: Approuage Becken, Arataye, zwischen Japigny Fall und Pararé Fall, Französisch-Guayana.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von T. Thierry Boujard, Laboratoire d'Hydrobiologie de Guyane (INRA), der zu dieser Zeit die Fische von Guyana sechs Jahre lang studiert hatte. (Übersetzt aus: The eTYFish Project)
