Holotypus: MNHNP 3880.
Paratypen: MCP 49901 (5 + 1 c&s), 49899 (1); MNHNP 3881 (4), 3882 (1).
Typusfundort: Paraguay, Alto Paraná, Hernandarias, Arroyo Itá at Paso Itá, near to Embalse de Acaray, ca. 8 km from road between Hernandarias and Ciudad del Este, Río Paraná basin, 25°22’56.9”S, 54°41’34.8”W (Karte), approx. 200 m asl.

Etymologie

Vom griechischen dialeukos (= mit Weiß markiert), in Bezug auf die weiße oder helle Cremefarbe der Wange.

Verbreitung

Otothyropsis dialeukos ist nur von seiner Typuslokalität bekannt, dem Arroyo Itá, ein Nebenfluss zum Embalse de Acaray, oberes Río Paraná Becken in Paraguay.
