Thermalis (= lateinisch für heiße Quelle), bezogen auf das Vorkommen in den warmen Quellen von Cania, Sri Lanka (Typuslokalität).
Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: Ostafrika und Madagaskar östlich bis zu den Philippinen und Neuirland (Papua-Neuguinea), nördlich bis zu den Ryukyu-Inseln, südlich bis Nordaustralien und Vanuatu.
