Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Antonio Alessandrini (1786-1861, man beachte die Latinisierung des Namens), italienischer Arzt und Anatom, Autor einer detaillierten anatomischen Studie über die Kiemen von Mola, die später im selben Jahr veröffentlicht wurde [früher bekannt als Mola ramsayi].
