Typusfundort: Mudasalodai Fischanlandezentrum [Schleppnetzanlandung], vor der Küste von Cuddalore, Golf von Bengalen, 11°29'N, 79°46'E (Karte), Tiefe etwa 25 - 30 Meter.
Etymologie
Naevius (= lateinisch für "Muttermale" oder "Flecken"), bezieht sich auf die zahlreichen dunklen Flecken auf der Rückenfläche des Körpers. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indischer Ozean: Cuddalore-Küste, Golf von Bengalen, Südostindien.
