Typusfundort: Coral heads in eastern end of Lagoon, Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands, western Pacific, 20-25 Fuss Teife.

Verbreitung
Rotes Meer, Indo-West-Pazifik: Ost- und Südafrika und Comores ostwärts zu den Marshall-Inseln, Samoa und Tonga, nördlich bis südliches Japan und Ogasawara-Inseln, südlich nach Neu-Kaledonien.
