Typusfundort: Insel Svinoi, südlich von Baky, Kaspisches Meer, Aserbaidschan, 756 Fuß [108 russische Faden].
Etymologie
Bathys (= tief); bios (= Leben), bezieht sich auf sein Vorkommen im Kaspischen Meer, in einer Tiefe von bis zu 230,5 m. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Eurasien: Einzugsgebiet des Kaspischen Meeres; eingeführt im Aralsee.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 7.3.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
