Etymologie
Narcetes (= einer, der betäubt ist), bezieht sich auf die Typusexemplare, die als sie aus 1353 m Tiefe an Bord gebracht wurden, sich in einem „kataleptoiden Zustand befanden, wobei das gesamte Muskelsystem ziemlich steif war und Hautreizung keine Reaktion hervorrief“.
