Etymologie
Koilomatodon: Etymologie nicht geklärt, vielleicht von koilos (= hohl oder Hohlraum); mataios (= leer oder fehlend); odon (= Zahn), d.h. Mundhöhle ohne Zähne, bezogen auf das Fehlen von Eckzähnen im Vergleich zu verwandten Arten. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Indo-Westpazifik: Thailand, Vietnam, China, Indonesien, Papua-Neuguinea und Nordaustralien.
