Holotypus: UFRJ 5986.
Typusfundort: Brasilien, Bundesstaat Acre, Porto Acre, temporärer Tümpel im Wald in den rio Acre-Überschwemmungsgebieten, rio Purus-Einzugsgebiet, Amazonas-Becken, 9°35'14.8"S, 67°31'57.0"W.
Etymologie
Der Artname boticarioi ist zu Ehren der Fundação O Boticário de Proteção À Natureza, in Anerkennung der Unterstützung für Studien zur Vielfalt und Erhaltung von annuellen Killifischen.
Verbreitung
Bisher nur von der Typuslokalität bekannt.
