Typusfundort: Brasilien, Bundesstaat Acre, Porto Acre, temporärer Tümpel im Wald in den rio Acre-Überschwemmungsgebieten, rio Purus-Einzugsgebiet, Amazonas-Becken, 9°35'12.2"S, 67°31'50.6"W.
Etymologie
Der Artname apurinan (Apurinã) ist der portugiesische Name eines indigenen Stammes, auch bekannt als Ipurinã, Popingaré und Kangitê, der das rio Purus-Einzugsgebiet im Gebiet der Typuslokalität der neuen Art bewohnt.
Verbreitung
Bisher nur von der Typuslokalität bekannt.
