Verbreitung
Ostpazifik: Golf von Kalifornien (Mexiko) südlich bis Peru, einschließlich vorgelagerte Inseln, westlich der Galapagos-Inseln.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 23.04.2019:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen für diese Art bekannt. Nach Dominici-Arosemena et al. (2005) ist dies ein wichtiger Aquarienfisch im Golf von Papagayo, Costa Rica, aber es ist unwahrscheinlich, dass sich das lokale Sammeln von Jungtieren auf die Population auswirkt.
