Etymologie

Nigro- (= Schwarz); marginatus (= gerandet), bezieht sich auf den schwarzen Rand entlang der vorderen Bauch- und Afterflossenstrahlen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Westlicher Zentralpazifik einschließlich der Philippinen (Typuslokalität), Indonesien, China und Taiwan in Tiefen von 247–717 m.
