Typusfundort: zwischen 36°51.60'N, 9°11.9'W und 36°50.5'N, 9°11.9'W (Karte), zwischen 650 und 655 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Hyalinumvelum bezieht sich auf die hyaline Membran (Velum), durch die sich diese Art von Lipogenys gillii unterscheidet.
Verbreitung
Ostatlantik: bisher nur von den Typusexemplaren von der südlichen Atlantikküste Portugals bekannt.
