Typusfundort: Rakuto River bei Bun-kei, Chosen, Korea.
Etymologie
Media- (= mittel), bezieht sich vermutlich auf die hohe und lange Adipose (= Fettflosse) in der Mitte des Rückens zwischen Rücken- und Schwanzflosse.
