Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des verstorbenen Phillip C. Heemstra (1941-2019), South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity, eines "geschätzten" Ichthyologen, und seiner Frau Elaine, die Typusexemplare und solche von Lepadichthys polyastrous gesammelt hat. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
