Etymologie
Macro- (= lang oder groß); pinna (= Flosse), vermutlich bezogen auf eine höhere Anzahl von Afterflossenstrahlen im Vergleich zu Artgenossen bei Benthalbella (der Gattung zum Zeitpunkt der Beschreibung). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
