Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Sir Harry Johnston (1858-1927), britischer Entdecker, Botaniker, Linguist und Kolonialverwalter, der die Typusexemplare an das British Museum „übermittelte“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet im südlichen Afrika; in verschiedenen Seen und Flusseinzugsgebieten in Malawi, Tansania, Mosambik, Sambia, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Simbabwe, Südafrika und der südöstlichen Demokratischen Republik Kongo.
