Etymologie
Labeo (= einer mit großen Lippen), bezieht sich vermutlich auf den keulenförmigen Haftapparat an den Lippen, der fast vollständig mit Geschmacksknospen bedeckt ist, d. h. ein Gastromyzon mit großen Lippen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
