Etymologie
Von iso- (= gleich); gomphos (= keilförmiger Nagel); odon (= Zahn), bezieht sich darauf, wie die Zähne in beiden Kiefern gleichermaßen befestigt sind, d. h. claviform und gerade in beiden Kiefern.
