Etymologie
Spinus (= Stachel); -iger (= tragen), d.h. stachelig, bezieht sich auf einen einzelnen starken, nach außen und hinten gerichteten Stachel in der Mitte jeder Rückenplatte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
