Etymologie
Von hypselos (= hoch oder groß) und Barbus, eine andere Barbengattung. Im Sinne von "eine hohe Barbe", bezieht sich auf den steilen, winkeligen Rücken von H. mussullah. (übersetzt aus The ETYFish Project)
