Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des Paläontologen Arthur Smith Woodward (1864-1944), British Museum, für seine Arbeit zur Fischosteologie (er verfasste den Katalog der fossilen Fische im British Museum [1889-1901] und beschrieb 1912 den Piltdown Mann, was sich als Betrug erwies). Verbreitung
Diese Art ist nur von Okinawa (Inseln Okinawa und Iriomote), Japan, bekannt. Sie kommt normalerweise in Flussmündungen oder im Binnenmeer vor.
