Typusfundort: Golf von Bengalen vor Arakan, Myanmar, Tiefe 1100 Faden.
Etymologie
Nudus (= nackt); venter (= Bauch), bezieht sich auf das Fehlen von Stacheln auf der Unterseite der Scheibe und des Schwanzes [Typus im Zweiten Weltkrieg verloren; taxonomischer Status unsicher].
Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet im Indo-West-Pazifik vor Japan, Taiwan, den Philippinen, Melanesien (Neukaledonien, Vanuatu und Salomonen), Australien, Réunion und Südafrika Afrika. Bathymetrischer Bereich 430-1760 m, gewöhnlich weniger als 1000 m.
