Etymologie
Neglectus (= übersehen), Anspielung nicht erklärt, möglicherweise ein Hinweis auf die große Ähnlichkeit und mögliche Fehlidentifikation mit Gymnothorax punctatus. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Nordwestpazifik: Japan und Taiwan.
