Etymologie
Novem (= neun); lineatus (= liniert), bezieht sich auf neun "schmale perlblaue bis weiße Linien oder Bänder" auf dem Körper. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westlicher Zentralatlantik: Bahamas, Kaimaninseln und die Antillen südlich bis Venezuela und Kolumbien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 3.08.2023:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es scheint keine größeren Bedrohungen für die Art als Ganzes zu geben. Es ist möglich, dass einige Teilpopulationen durch die fortschreitende Entwicklung der Küsten bedroht sind, was jedoch weitere Untersuchungen erfordert.
