Etymologie
Lopis (= indigener Name für diesen Fisch in Samarang, Indonesien). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Sundaland und die Einzugsgebiete des Mekong und des Chao Phraya (Laos, Thailand und Kambodscha). Nach Kottelat & Widjanarti (2005) beschränkt auf Java, dort ausgestorben.

Status: Stand 4.07.2023:EX Extinct (ausgestorben)
Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art gilt als ausgestorben, da sie seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts nicht mehr angetroffen wurde. Abholzung, Entwaldung, Stadtentwicklung, extensive und nicht nachhaltige Fischerei, Verschmutzung durch industrielle, häusliche und landwirtschaftliche Punkt- und Nicht-Punkt-Quellen sowie Landwirtschaft sind in West- und Zentraljava weit verbreitet.
