Etymologie
Alexandrina (= alexandrinisch), aus dem ägyptischen Mittelmeerraum stammend und damit vermutlich auf die Stadt Alexandria verweisend. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Mittelmeer; Marmarameer; östlicher Atlantik: Portugal südlich bis Angola, einschließlich Madeira, sowie São Tomé und Principe.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 25.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Weltweit sind keine größeren Bedrohungen für diese Art bekannt. Es handelt sich um eine kleinere kommerzielle Art, die mit verschiedenen Fanggeräten gefangen wird. Im östlichen Mittelatlantik wird diese Art mit Grundschleppnetzen und pelagischen Schleppnetzen, Bootswaden und mit Leinen gefangen. Im Libanon werden nur Jungfische von etwa 20 cm TL gefangen.
